About Alamogordo

Located in south-central New Mexico, Alamogordo is the county seat of Otero County. The small city has a population of 30,403. Alamogordo is best known for its connection with the Trinity test, the first testing explosion of an atomic bomb. In addition to that, the city is also unique in that it employs a council-manager form of government, and was the first city in the United States to do so.
