The Rotary Club of Alamogordo offers scholarships to Otero County college students (at least sophomore standing) pursuing a degree or certificate in a medical career field (Associate in Science, nursing, biology, chemistry, environmental science, biomedical equipment technology, EMT, dental hygiene, dental assistant, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, etc.)

Scholarship applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Otero County.
  • Have completed or will complete the freshman year of COLLEGE (28 credit hours, or more).
  • Have an overall 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA), or higher. (A current UNOFFICIAL transcript must be attached.)
  • Provide proof of enrollment in NMSU.
Applicants will be judged on:
  • Academic Achievement.
  • Exemplary character and the potential to succeed.
  • Participation in extra-curricular school activities and community involvement.
  • A correct, complete, and legible application. (Incomplete applications will not be considered; no exceptions.)
  • An interview may be required.

Applicants will be notified by letter of the Scholarship Committee’s decisions. Scholarships will be paid directly to the academic institution once registration is confirmed. All material submitted is confidential and will be retained by the Rotary Club of Alamogordo. The decisions of the Rotary Club Scholarship Committee are final.
